Stephen, a Chartered Financial Consultant and a licensed life, health and disability agent.  He is an Investment Adviser Representative with Cetera Advisor Networks LLC. Cetera Advisor Networks LLC, member SIPC, is a full service broker/dealer and Registered Investment Adviser, providing financial planning, investment advice and brokerage services.

After graduating from Baylor University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Steve began his insurance career in Dallas, Texas. In 1980 he founded Stephen L. Harris, CLU & Associates, which specializes in providing insurance and related employee benefit plans to small businesses.

Steve obtained his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1978 and in 1983 the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). He also holds an Insurance Counselors License with the State of Texas. Steve is a member of the Dallas Chapter of Society of Financial Service Professionals, where he served as President in 1989 – 1990. Steve has also been a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers (NAIFA) since 1971, and served as Dallas Association President in 1995-1996.

Recognizing NAIFA’s need to be more proactive in the charitable community, Steve was instrumental in establishing the Foundation of NAIFA – Dallas in 1994 and served as Chairman in 1996-1997. In 1997, Steve was honored by his peers in being selected as the NAIFA – Dallas Life Underwriter of the Year. He was awarded the prestigious Beverly L. Brooks Leadership Award by The Dallas Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals in 2005 in recognition of his “Dedicated Service, Highest Integrity, and Outstanding Leadership in the Financial Services Industry”.

Steve was elected into the NAIFA-Dallas Hall of Fame in 2006. Steve and his wife Susan have been active members of the Richardson community serving in various volunteer positions for over twenty years. They are members of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson and currently serve on the Board of Ark House, a non-profit organization that provides low-cost, conveniently located housing to patients and their families traveling to Dallas area hospitals for medical care.

From 2014 to 2016 Steve served on the Board Of Governors of the Dallas Estate Planning Council.
